Looks that could Kill (Lion at Addo)

The experience behind this photo is one I will never forget. Let me set the scene: At Addo Elephant National Park (Eastern Cape, South Africa) there are certain areas where you are allowed to get out of your vehicle, at your own risk. I was at one of these areas where you could get out of the car and I was taking photos of some elephants that where at a waterhole below us, when all of a sudden people started pulling up in their cars and getting out and I heard a guide mention something about a lion. The next minute, brought the experience I will never forget. No more than a few meters away from me, and an ankle height fence type object in between us, were two lions, a lioness and the male lion you see in this photo! The male lion looked right at those of us who were lucky enough to have this experience, whilst the female lion started to stalk a buck who was not too far away. She eventually gave up with that, so unfortunately did not get to see a hunt, but that did not matter because of the most exhilarating experience we had just had.
